$78M Massive Colorado Mountain Retreat Is Most Expensive New Listing

If you’re on the hunt for a vacation home with a teppanyaki grill, a climbing wall, and 12 snowmobiles, look no further.

Now available for a chill $78 million, this week’s most expensive new listing on realtor.com® is Casteel Creek Retreat, a 439-acre mountain compound with all those amenities—and much, much more!

The massive estate in Edwards, CO, was originally designed as a ranch in 2001. The current owners—who’ve had the place for the past decade—have added extra apartments with a Wild West theme, in order to accommodate up to 40 guests.

They also built a massive, 25,000-square-foot recreational center with a five-story climbing wall, spa, pool, and indoor arena, which transformed the ranch into a full-on retreat.

“Everything you can think of for recreation and enjoyment is there,” says listing agent Kerry Endsley.

If you like what you see, good news. “All the buildings come furnished,” says Endsley. That means all of it, artwork, linens, silverware, and electronics are all included.

You could even keep on the experienced workers tending to the retreat. “The staff is there and would love to stay. It would be seamless,” Endsley adds.

Privately nestled between the town of Edwards, the Beaver Creek Ski Resort, and the Vail Mountain Club, the large swath of land borders 2 million acres of White River National Forest. The retreat is easy enough to access via a nearby airport, or there are several helipads on the property for those who prefer to travel by helicopter.

As far as recreation goes, there are plenty of options. The extensive property includes some 12 miles of groomed paths for skiing, horseback riding, hiking, and biking. There’s also a fully stocked trout pond.

In addition, the property also comes with snowmobiles, ATVs, and a snow plow. Don’t worry about gassing up. There’s also a place to fuel your vehicles, so there’s never a need to leave the property.

“Once you come in the gate, everything you need is right there,” says Endsley.
