A renovated Mediterranean villa in Los Angeles back on the market for $75 million is this week’s most expensive listing on realtor.com®. Located on Bellagio Road, the property has been dubbed “Bellagio Estate.”
The estate was originally designed by Paul Williams, a Southern California architect who designed homes for celebrities, including Frank Sinatra, Lucille Ball, Cary Grant, and Barbara Stanwyck.
“The beauty of the Bellagio Estate lies in its storied past and unprecedented craftsmanship by the JRC Group that transformed it from a timeless Paul Williams’ Spanish villa and into a five-star resort,” says listing agent Jeff Hyland of Hilton & Hyland.
While the property was extensively remodeled and expanded in 2007, its latest update was designed and completed this year by Don Ziebell of Oz Architects and JRC Construction. The result is “a masterwork combining subtle finishes and exquisite details,” according to the listing.
While maintaining its heritage Spanish Colonial architectural elements, the mansion features up-to-the-minute modernization. The 20,000-square-foot estate has seven bedrooms and 9.5 baths. The two-story space is built around a courtyard, which includes an outdoor fireplace and seating area.
“The nearly 2-acre Bel Air villa marries classic architecture with a fresh palette of high-end finishes, including custom Nanz hardware throughout, a 7,000-bottle wine cellar lined with antique French limestone, two swimming pools, two spas, and a tennis court,” adds Hyland.
Covered bar and media space
Listing photos hint at the luxe details, including clay veneer plaster walls, French oak floors, and walls of steel-framed windows.
Highlights include a family room with beamed ceiling, a formal dining room, and a living room with built-ins and fireplace.
An eat-in chef’s kitchen with brass details includes space for a dining table. A 2,500-square-foot master suite boasts dual baths, massive closets, and a private pool and spa.
The grounds also include multiple levels for entertaining, a pool, and a covered bar.
